I was in Liverpool at the weekend, I've only ever passed by the outskirts before, so it was nice to take some time and see what the city had to offer.
I must admit that I really like the city, its layout and architecture is really beautiful and the sense of culture oozes from the walls that it's built with. The only issue I had with the city was that it was very dirty. I don't know whether I had just been unfortunate to arrive on a particularly bad weekend, but there was litter everywhere, the bins were overflowing and never seemed to be properly cleaned up the whole time I was there. Sad really, considering its history and potential.
I happened to stay in a hostel while I was in Liverpool, it was a new hostel that had only opened this summer and I must say that I was very impressed. The place was very clean and the bar/restaurant was really nicely set out and served beautiful food and drinks. The hostel was called the Hoax Hostel Liverpool and I would recommend it if you needed somewhere cheap and clean to rest your weary head.
Below are a couple of photos taken from the hostel room window with my Fujifilm X-E1.
