Summer Wedding in Londonderry, Northern Ireland

Kristen emailed me in March of this year from her home in Ontario, Canada asking if I could photograph her and Patrick's wedding in in Londonderry.  The day itself was warm with the odd drizzly spell, but not enough to put any kind of dampener on the wedding, which took place in St. Eugene's Cathedral in Londonderry, a gloriously beautiful building steeped in centuries of history.

The day started with bridal preparation in the An Grianan Hotel in Burt, Co. Donegal, which also happened to be the venue for the wedding breakfast and evening party.  I was lucky enough on this occasion to be able to photograph both the bride and groom's preparations for their big day, as they were only a floor apart in the same hotel!  The wedding service itself went off without a hitch, with the weather managing to stay dry for the bride to get to the church.  It was lovely to see so many of Kristen's family make the long trip from Canada to see Kristen marry local man Patrick.

As a documentary style wedding photographer I really enjoyed photographing the day and evening as it naturally unfolded.  Below are a selection of my favourite images taken from the day.  I hope you enjoy them, and if so then please feel free to like me on Facebook, leave a comment below or if you are interested in a documentary style wedding photographer for your own wedding, then please get in touch and I will be only too happy to help.
