When Catherine contacted me about photographing her and Alistair's wedding I was really excited. Winter weddings seem to have an ora about them that makes them somewhat magical. I don't know whether it is all the rich colours of the bridesmaids dresses, or the twinkling of the fairy lights wrapped around the Christmas tree, but there is always a sense of excitement in the air.
I headed round to Catherine's parents house on the morning of the wedding and was instantly greeted and made to feel part of the family's big day. The girls got ready, helped with an early glass or two of celebratory fizzy dutch courage and the day was soon well on its way.
Catherine and Alistair got married in Ballywalter Presbyterian Church, set in the beautiful coastal surroundings of the Ards Peninsula before jumping into their very retro red VW campervan and heading north to the Dunadry Hotel in Co. Antrim for dinner and a bit of a shindig.
All in all I think that everyone really enjoyed sharing Catherine and Alistair's wonderful wedding day, and I personally was honoured to be able to document the whole day in my own style.
Have a look at some of my favourite photos from the day and if you are interested in having me shoot your wedding day, then don't hesitate to get in touch.
